TERMS OF SALE
Last updated: 3 October 2026
1. Scope
These terms govern all sales made through unho.me by XXX, sole trader, SIRET 914 533 237 00014, hereafter "UNHOME", to any buyer, hereafter "the Customer". Placing an order means the Customer accepts these terms in full.
2. Objects
UNHOME produces objects, printed publications and design pieces in limited quantities. Photographs and videos on the site are as faithful as possible but do not form part of the contract. Pieces are made in small batches and in part by hand, so minor variations in finish, colour and grain are inherent to the piece and are not defects. Where an ordered piece proves unavailable, the Customer is informed and refunded in full within fourteen (14) days.
3. Prices
Prices are shown in US dollars (USD) per unit. VAT is not applicable under article 293 B of the French General Tax Code. Shipping costs are shown separately before the order is validated. Prices do not include import duties, import VAT or customs clearance fees in the Customer's country. See clause 6. The price applicable is the one displayed at the moment the order is placed.
4. Ordering
The Customer selects the pieces, reviews the order summary, corrects any errors, and confirms. An order confirmation is sent by email, and the contract is formed when that confirmation is sent. UNHOME reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order from a Customer with whom a dispute is ongoing, or where the order is manifestly abnormal or made in bad faith.
5. Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of the order, processed by Stripe. UNHOME never has access to the Customer's card details. Pieces remain the property of UNHOME until full payment has been received.
6. Shipping, customs and import charges
Pieces are dispatched from Japan, Hong Kong or mainland China, not from France. This is stated on each product page and again at checkout. Preparation time is seven (7) working days. Transit time depends on the destination and the carrier, and is indicated at checkout. Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Goods travel at UNHOME's risk until they are handed to the Customer.
Because goods are shipped from outside the European Union, deliveries into the EU and into other territories may be subject to import duties, import VAT and customs clearance fees. These are payable by the Customer, in addition to the price and the shipping cost, and are collected by the carrier or the customs authority on arrival. UNHOME has no control over these amounts and cannot estimate them.
If the Customer refuses to pay these charges and the parcel is returned or destroyed, the outbound and return shipping costs and any charges incurred remain payable by the Customer and are deducted from any refund. UNHOME declares the true sale value of goods on all customs documentation and will not mark parcels as gifts or declare a reduced value.
7. Pre-orders
Some pieces are offered as pre-orders, which is stated clearly on the product page. For a pre-order, the expected dispatch date is given before the order is placed and repeated in the order confirmation. Payment is taken at the time of the order.
If the expected dispatch date moves, the Customer is informed by email and may cancel the order for a full refund at any point before dispatch. The right of withdrawal under clause 9 applies as normal once the piece has been delivered.
8. Made-to-order pieces
Certain pieces, including the ZERO CHAIR, are made to order and are not sold through the online cart. They are quoted individually on request, taking into account production, crating, freight and customs to the destination. A separate written quotation and order confirmation governs each such sale. In accordance with article L221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised. This is stated in the quotation and must be acknowledged before production begins.
9. Right of withdrawal
Consumers within the European Union have fourteen (14) days from the day they, or a third party they designate, take physical possession of the goods to withdraw from the contract without giving reasons and without penalty, under articles L221-18 and following of the French Consumer Code.
To exercise this right, the Customer informs UNHOME of their decision before the deadline expires, by any unambiguous written statement sent to contact@unho.me, or using the withdrawal form reproduced at the end of these terms. Sending the notice before the deadline is sufficient.
Return costs are payable by the Customer. Because returns must travel to XXX, these costs can be significant and are the Customer's responsibility. The Customer is advised to use a tracked service; UNHOME cannot refund a return that does not arrive. For low-value pieces, UNHOME may waive the return and refund directly; this is at UNHOME's discretion and does not affect the Customer's rights.
Goods must be returned without undue delay and in any event within fourteen (14) days of the withdrawal notice, in their original condition and packaging, complete and unused beyond what is necessary to establish their nature and characteristics. The Customer is liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond that.
UNHOME refunds all sums paid, including the standard outbound shipping cost, within fourteen (14) days of receiving the returned goods or of proof of dispatch, whichever is earlier, by the same means of payment used for the order.
Exceptions: the right of withdrawal does not apply to made-to-order or personalised goods, nor to sealed goods that cannot be returned for reasons of hygiene once unsealed, including cosmetics, where the seal has been broken.
10. Legal warranties
Regardless of any commercial guarantee, UNHOME remains bound by the legal warranty of conformity, articles L217-3 and following of the French Consumer Code, under which the Customer has two (2) years from delivery to obtain repair or replacement of non-conforming goods, and by the warranty against hidden defects, articles 1641 and following of the French Civil Code, under which the Customer has two (2) years from discovery of the defect. Claims should be sent to contact@unho.me with the order number and photographs.
11. Damage in transit
The Customer is asked to inspect parcels on arrival. Visible damage should be noted with the carrier at the time of delivery and reported to UNHOME at contact@unho.me within seven (7) days, with photographs of the packaging and the piece.
12. Liability
UNHOME cannot be held liable for delays, losses or damage attributable to the carrier, to customs authorities, or to events beyond its reasonable control.
13. Personal data
Personal data is processed as described in the Privacy Policy.
14. Mediation and dispute resolution
In accordance with article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code, a consumer may, after making a written complaint to UNHOME and failing a satisfactory response, refer the dispute free of charge to a consumer mediator: XXX. The European Commission also provides an online dispute resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
15. Applicable law
These terms are governed by French law. Nothing in this clause deprives a consumer of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of their country of residence.
